Phil and Hev met in 2023 during residency, a time when life was busy, demanding, and full of unknowns. At first glance, he seemed unassuming—but it didn’t take long for her to see his steadiness, kindness, patience, and the quiet way of making even the hardest moments feel manageable.

When they both started developing feelings for each other, he later confessed that he had noticed her even earlier, during orientation, drawn to the girl with the big smile walking through the hospital halls. After didactics, dinners became a familiar rhythm, and what began as mentorship gently grew into friendship. By 2024, they had become each other’s safe place—best friends who shared stresses, laughter, and the little joys of everyday life.

When he proposed in Canada, surrounded by both of their families, it felt like something out of a dream. She was initially blindfolded and led down an aisle lined with roses as “Can’t Help Falling in Love” playing. When she removed the blindfold their family was waiting with flowers and hand written notes. At the end of an aisle, he was standing inside a heart made of roses—in that moment, everything felt certain.

This is the beginning of their forever.
